Do you ever wonder if God is mad at you? Maybe you feel that way because of something you’ve done currently or in the past. Maybe you feel that way because others express anger and upset towards you. Or maybe you feel that way because your life is not going the way you desire. Maybe some of your prayers have remained unanswered.

Whatever the reason is, I want to start by making it as clear as possible, that the answer is no. God is not mad at you. God loves you. And God longs to have a rich and vibrant relationship with you. He wants to give you abundant life (John 10:10), that begins now and lasts for all eternity.

It does not matter what you’ve done. It does not matter who you are. It does not matter what other people think about you. God’s thoughts towards you are good. And He cares about everything concerning you. Especially your eternal future.

• For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11).
• But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8).
• In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10).
• But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. (Psalm 86:15).
• But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-7).

In just these few scriptures, we learn just a snippet of how much God cares for us. We learn that God has abounding love for us. That His thoughts towards us are of peace. That He has compassion for us and is slow to anger.

In other words, God is not waiting to punish you. In fact, He poured out His grace and love on you long before you cared one iota about Him. Before you even recognized you were a sinner, Jesus died for you.

Let me say it again, God is not mad at you.

If you’ve been living contrary to God’s ways, it’s not too late to repent.

The stains of sin didn’t keep God from sending His Son to die on a cross for your sins. And they won’t keep Him from embracing you now, if you’ll turn your heart to Him.

If you haven’t been giving God much time or thought, start prioritizing Him today. Today, is always the right day to surrender and open your heart and time to Jesus.

Our feelings and emotions can be hard to ignore. But when they don’t line up with what the Bible says, we need to surrender them to His Word, no matter how true they feel.

You now have five verses filled with truth about God’s thoughts towards you and His love for you. Five verses out of many. It’s time to meditate on His Words and remind yourself how much God loves you.

Because He isn’t mad at you, He’s crazy about you!
